Step 3: Insert New Grade into Override Score Box

When you select the student to review you will be presented with the student's entire exam. On the righthand side of each question there are two boxes:
  1. Override Score: In the Override Score box you can input the new points awarded.
  2. Points Earned: The points earned will display the points awarded. If you input a new number in the Override Score box it will automatically adjust the points earned box.

In the next step we will go through an example.

Step 4: Override Student Score Example

In this example there was an error in the answer. The second fill-in-the-blank answer was set to "10,000" when it should have been set to "blue". The student received full marks (4 out 4) because they input the correct answer for both fill-in-the-blank answers (each set to 2 points each). However, the second answer was wrong. To adjust the student's score to 2 out 4, simply input 2 in the override score.

When the override score is changed it will also be reflected in the points awarded box. In order to help the instructor keep track of grading adjustments, a new line under the question will appear which states "Points adjusted by instructor" and the question number on the lefthand side will also appear in blue.

Step 6: Select BULK ADJUSTMENTS

In the By Question tab you can use the toggle features to expand information to include all information, show student names, or show only incorrect answers.

In this question the second fill-in-the-blank has the incorrect answer by mistake. The answer was set to "10,000" when it should have been set to "blue". In this case we want to adjust every student's score because the answer was incorrect. To do so select "BULK ADJUSTMENTS".

Step 7: Toggle on Bulk Score Adjustments and Select Save Changes

You will be presented with two different bulk adjustment options:

  1. Omit Question from Assessment (Remove this question from graded scores for all students)

  2. Give Full Credit (Assign full marks on this question for all students)

Simply toggle on your preferred grading adjustment and select SAVE CHANGES.

Step 8: Bulk Adjustment Changes Are Reflected in Blue

When bulk adjustments are made, a new line under the question will appear which states "Question omitted by instructor" or "Full credit given by the instructor" to help the instructor track grading adjustments. The new point values will be reflected throughout the different result tabs.
